When you log in, you will see your assigned applications. You will be able to swap out an application if there is a conflict. This can only be done in the first 48 hours before applications have been scored. If you need to swap, please contact ude[dot]ui[at]001pot.
You will be presented with a random subset of completed applications that you have been assigned to provide an initial review. In this first round, our goal is to narrow the pool of applications to those most deserving of careful scoring in round two. Outstanding applications should demonstrate significant academic, co-curricular, and/or personal accomplishments that exceed that of a typical high-achieving college junior or senior. Therefore, when you access this list, you will see your set of applications and be asked to identify the strongest ones based on your overall impressions of application completeness, quality, and merit.
All applications are being reviewed by at least three judges in this first stage, and it takes two judges giving an advance to round two rating for an application to move forward in the process. At no point are you able to see how other judges have rated any given application. You do not have to rate all of your assigned applications at once. You can continue to log in to the system and work on rating until judging ends. As a reminder, all you are being asked to do in this first stage is to identify the strongest applications based on your own overall judgment.
To score/view/edit an application click on the review button. Next to each application, you will be able to select YES (to indicate the application should advance to round 2) or NO (to indicate it should not advance).

You will be provided with a random set of Top 100 finalists to examine closely and use the following to assess.
There are five components where you will give each application a score. Keep in mind that all applications have already been deemed quite strong, so we recommend you be very conservative in your allocation of points in each category. That is, if you score them all at the top of the scale, the final selection will be more arbitrary and less meaningful. The components for scoring are:
- Academic and scholarly achievement
- Cocurricular activities
- External, personal or other activities
- Personal statement
- Overall impression – you will provide a score here and then explain your overall thoughts of the application.
This score comes only from you. At no point are you able to see how other judges have scored any given application. You do not have to score all of your assigned applications at once. You can continue to log in to the system and work on scoring until judging ends.
